Following the recent success at Heli-Expo 2022 in Dallas, TX (8-10 March), Leonardo confirms its strong position in the commercial helicopter market announcing further advancements with recent sales of 23 aircraft of various models to several operators across Europe, North America and Latin America, primarily for VIP/corporate transport, energy support, and search and rescue. Total sales include 15 AW139 intermediate twins, three AW169s light intermediate, three AW109 GrandNew light twins, one AW119Kx single engine and one AW189 super medium twin engine helicopter. Combined orders are valued at nearly 256 million EUR, with deliveries between 2022 and 2023. Beyond sales, recent months also marked the introduction of new services offered by newly-accepted aircraft in various countries.

As Shadin Avionics prepares for a new chapter in their future products, they will be retiring a legacy product from their Fuel Flow Indicator product line: the Miniflo-L™. The indicator is one of three cockpit indicators that Shadin manufactures: the other two being the Digiflo-L™ and Microflo-L™ which will stay in production. Shadin’s Part 145 Repair Station still plans to support and repair the Miniflo-L™ as many of the products are still in use today and will be for years to come.

MD Helicopters, Inc. (“MD” or “the Company”) today announced that it has entered into an Asset Purchase Agreement with a creditor consortium led by Bardin Hill and MBIA Insurance Corporation (the “Creditor Consortium”). The flight crew was on a visual flight rules (VFR) ferry flight to reposition the helicopter for maintenance and inspection. Prior to departure, they had expected VFR conditions along the entire route of flight. During an intermediate stop for fuel about 42 miles from the destination, they noted the weather conditions appeared to be clear, but they did not obtain an updated weather briefing. After departure, about 10 miles away from their destination, they encountered heavy rain, moderate turbulence, and deteriorating visibility (a nearby airport reported a visibility of 2.5 statute miles in mist and an overcast cloud ceiling at 300 feet). They descended to about 100 feet above ground level to maintain visual contact with the ground.
