SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Archer Aviation Inc., a leader in the development of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, announced today that on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 it received approval from CAEATFA for its ~$117M project covering the planned expansion of its advanced manufacturing facilities in the State of California, including the ramp of its advanced electric powertrain facility as it readies for commercialization. The CAEATFA sales and use tax exclusion is expected to result in ~$10M in benefit to Archer over the next few years.

On April 9, 2023, at 0845 central daylight time, a Helicopteres Guimbal Cabri G2, N372PA, was involved in an accident near Cahokia, Illinois. The helicopter sustained substantial damage. The flight instructor received minor injuries and the student pilot was uninjured. The helicopter was operated under Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 as an instructional flight.

On June 26, 2022, about 1938 Alaska daylight time, a Bell UH-1B helicopter, N9970F, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Clear, Alaska. The pilot was fatally injured. The helicopter was operated by Northern Pioneer Helicopters LLC as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 133 external load flight.
