Marignane, France, 7 October 2026 – The government of Romania has signed a contract for the procurement of 12 Airbus H225M helicopters. The agreement was concluded with the French Armament General Directorate (DGA) in the frame of the European Commission’s Security Action for Europe (SAFE). The European Union’s financial instrument is designed to provide financial support to Member States to speed up defence readiness by allowing urgent and major investments in support of the European defence industry, with a focus on closing critical capability gaps.

Marignane, France, 10 September 2026 – The French Aeronautical Maintenance Directorate (DMAé) has placed an additional order with Airbus Helicopters following the successful evaluation of an initial U050 Capa-X system acquired at the end of 2025. This order covers the supply of four systems, each comprising two U050 Capa-X Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS), with two intended for the French Navy and two for the French Army as part of the Light Tactical Drone System (SDTL) evaluation programme. Delivery of the systems is scheduled for 2027.

Farnborough, United Kingdom, 22 July 2026 – Airbus Helicopters’ tactical uncrewed aerial system U030 Flexrotor has officially started maritime surveillance operations in the Baltic Sea on behalf of the European Maritime Security Agency (EMSA). In December 2025, Airbus Helicopters was awarded a €30 million framework contract with the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) to provide Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) services for multipurpose maritime surveillance across the European Union, with sub-contractor operator Extensee. Operations started after a series of successful test flights to validate technical and regulatory milestones ahead of the entry into service, and to support operator handover to Extensee.
