VerdeGo Aero Awarded NASA Phase II Program

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., November 18, 2025 – VerdeGo Aero™, Inc. has achieved significant milestones in demonstrating, through analysis, the mission capability advantages of hybridizing an electrified VTOL rotorcraft under a Phase II Program contract under NASA’s SBIR Ignite program, which began in September 2024. The Phase II program builds upon a successful Phase I effort that focused on the conceptual application and integration of VerdeGo’s VH-3 piston hybrid-electric powerplant in four hybrid aircraft designs including CTOL, VTOL and STOL configurations. Throughout the Phase II effort, VerdeGo Aero has demonstrated the concept of the application of the VH-3 and VH-4T turbine hybrid-electric powerplant in a novel high-speed advanced helicopter design based on the Hummingbird 300L and nicknamed “Speedbird.”

GPMS Expands EASA Approvals for Foresight MX HUMS

Cologne, Germany (November 13, 2025) — GPMS International, the leader in helicopter health and usage monitoring systems (HUMS), announced that the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has validated several of its existing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for its Foresight MX HUMS. The new validations include the Airbus AS350/H125 (STC 10086957), Bell 407 (STC 10069291), Bell 429 (STC 10087254), and Bell 212 and 412 models (STC 10087806).

U.S. Customs and Border Protection to Train Pilots in Virtual Reality Using Loft Dynamics’ FAA-Qualified Simulator

OKLAHOMA CITY and DÜBENDORF, Switzerland Nov. 13, 2025 — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations (AMO), which operates the world’s largest and most diverse law enforcement aviation fleet, has awarded a contract to Davenport Aviation to provide the Loft Dynamics virtual reality (VR) flight simulator. The simulator is the first VR flight simulator qualified by both the FAA and EASA. CBP will install Loft’s Airbus H125 VR flight simulator at its Oklahoma City training center—marking the first-ever use of VR flight training by a U.S. federal law enforcement agency and reflecting a broader industry shift toward safer, more immersive and more accessible pilot training.

NTSB Final Report: Ponderosa Pines, MT

The pilot reported that he was transitioning the helicopter into a 4 ft hover when he encountered a wind gust. The pilot stated that he overreacted with too much right pedal and the helicopter rotated right, the left skid impacted the ground, which resulted in a dynamic rollover and impact with terrain. The helicopter sustained substantial damage to the fuselage and tailboom.

NTSB Preliminary Report: Ekalaka, MT

On October 22, 2025, about 1830 mountain daylight time, a Robinson Helicopter Co. R66, N67GA, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Ekalaka, Montana. The pilot and 3 passengers were fatally injured. The helicopter was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight.
