Airbus and HeliDax sign first HCare Classics support contract to cover fleet of 36 H120s

Marignane, 7 September 2022 – French helicopter operator HeliDax and Airbus Helicopters have signed the first-ever HCare Classics support contract to optimise the availability of HeliDax’s H120 fleet. HCare Classics is Airbus’ new support package entirely dedicated to meeting the support needs of the company’s out-of-production legacy helicopters.

IBAMA introduces the SLING DRAGON into Aerial Firefighting Strategy

Delta, BC, Canada – IBAMA (Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources) conducts a large and comprehensive annual Forest Firefighting Training program held in Brazil’s capital city of Brasilia at the National Park and includes both theory and practical elements. This year’s training program introduced SEI’s SLING DRAGON, an important device for the integrated management of controlled burns. The SLING DRAGON went through extensive testing and received Technical Release in time to train IBAMA pilots with the new aerial ignition equipment. IBAMA’s three SLING DRAGON units are the first to be used in South America.

NTSB Final Report: Mentone, TX

The flight was operated for the purpose of gathering cattle. The pilot departed from a temporary staging area and completed multiple passes in the area over an approximate 1 hour and 40-minute period. Ground support personnel observed the helicopter six times during that time; however, there were no witnesses to the accident.
