RECOIL EMPHASIZES BONUS DEPRECIATION ADVANTAGE FOR U.S. AERIAL FIRE OPERATORS

BOWLING GREEN, Kentucky, November 25, 2025  Kentucky-based Recoil Aerospace Inc. (Recoil), has outlined the positive potential fiscal impact of recent tax changes for aerial firefighting equipment acquisition.

The company designs and fields the very popular External and Internal Tsunami Aerial fire suppression systems (AFSS) tanks for the Super Puma and Black Hawk series helicopters.

Recoil Aerospace reminds all that recently passed legislation in the U.S. Congress has reinstated the ‘Bonus Depreciation’ approach for deducting capital equipment purchases by U.S. companies.  With this aspect, companies may fully deduct their outlays for significant equipment purchases in 2025.

While taxes and finance topics are not high profile compared with dropping water on an out of control wildfire, they are equally as important for businesses engaged in aerial fire suppression.

“Margins are challenging for small businesses like those involved in aerial firefighting, and every advantage helps,” states Recoil President and founder Joseph Rice.  “In this case operators may now potentially claim substantial depreciation of key aerial firefighting equipment purchased here in 2025 thanks to the recent tax changes.”

Purchases of critical advanced technology capital equipment like Recoil’s aerial fire suppression tanks may potentially be made sooner given advantages in accounting for the tax implications and aggressive deductions.

Please review with your tax accountant to determine if you can take advantage of the current tax law.

Operators and the public can benefit from the implementation of new technology like the Recoil AFSS for controlling devastating urban interface and remote wildfires alike.

Recoil recently added EASA STC approval for the Airbus Super Puma helicopter series (SA330, AS332, EC225, AS332L, AS332L1, AS332L2, EC225LP) to a wide-ranging list of existing international certifications.

• FAA STC: SR02584AK

 • EASA STC 10084620

• Canada: SR02584AK

 • ANAC / Brazil: 2024S12-08 • Australia: SR02584AK

 • Mexico: IA-1012/2025

 • Morocco: SR02584AK

 • South Korea: SR02584AK

U.S.-based Recoil’s STC SR02584AK for the H225 Super Puma series helicopter represents the only tank approved for operations with that aircraft.

A performance upgrade in capabilities from legacy external water buckets, firefighting crews are able to fly over urban population centers without the hazard of underslung, jettisonable loads.

Higher airspeeds of Recoil-equipped fire helicopters bring more efficient suppression efforts with rapid turnarounds and rapid response to incidents.

Recoil’s low-profile external AFSS mounts directly to the fuselage, eliminating external long-line bucket operations, requiring no modifications to the helicopter landing gear.

And the UH-60 Black Hawk series Internal AFSS has advantages of in-cabin mounting, 140-knot approved airspeed.  Rapid installation combined with high-volume, fixed-tank water delivery and high airspeeds lead to maximum fire suppression effectiveness.

In addition, Recoil provides full global support and training including its “Recoil Aerial Firefighting Academy” from its Bowling Green, Kentucky headquarters.

Importantly, Recoil is the only US-based company producing these types of modern, carbon fiber AFSS tanks, in partnership with its Kentucky-based affiliate Aerospace Composites Solutions (ACS) which operates an AS9100 Certified Manufacturing facility.
