THC (The Helicopter Company) will further expand its fleet of Leonardo AW139 intermediate twin engine helicopters to reinforce search and rescue (SAR), Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Corporate transport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. At Heli-Expo 2023 (7-9 March) in Atlanta, Georgia, the Company announced its willingness to engage negotiations to procure additional six units to the existing fleet plus 20 options. By the time all these latest AW139s are delivered, THC will have a total fleet of 49 AW139s carrying out a range of missions including emergency medical service, search and rescue and corporate transport in the country.

Leonardo announced at Heli-Expo 2023 (Atlanta, 7-9 March) that Abu Dhabi Aviation (ADA) has signed a contract to procure six AW139 intermediate twin engine helicopters. The aircraft are expected to be delivered in the 2024-2026 timeframe and will be used to perform offshore transport missions further expanding ADA’s AW139 fleet primarily supporting the energy industry. These latest aircraft will also allow ADA to achieve compliance with the latest OGP guidelines.

Leonardo announced today a further expansion of its fleet of AW139 intermediate twin engine helicopters in Australia with an order for two aircraft by leading helicopter operator Babcock Australasia (Babcock). The two AW139 platforms ordered by Babcock will carry out a range of HEMS, Search and Rescue and Inter-Hospital Patient Transport missions on behalf of an undisclosed client. The AW139 platforms will be delivered in 2024 and will commence service in the second half of the year, following dedicated mission customisation performed locally.

(NYSE: VTOL) has signed a contract to procure six AW139 intermediate twin engine helicopters to support the Second-Generation Search and Rescue Aviation ("UKSAR2G") programme by the U.K. Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA). PHILADELPHIA, Leonardo and Boeing have delivered the first four MH-139A Grey Wolf test helicopters to the U.S. Air Force as the service looks to replace its aging fleet of UH-1N helicopters. The Grey Wolf is a multi-mission helicopter – based on Leonardo’s proven dual-use AW139 helicopter – designed to protect intercontinental ballistic missiles and transport U.S. government officials and security forces. Boeing was awarded a $2.4 billion contract in Sept. 2018 for up to 80 helicopters, training systems and associated support equipment.

The strong mutual effort and close cooperation by Leonardo and Suzuyo & Co. Ltd. (Suzuyo) have recently achieved to obtain in Japan the certification for an AW139 Level D Full Flight Simulator (FFS). The event marks a major milestone for the first Level D FFS helicopter simulator based in the country. Together with an AW139 Level 5 Flight Training Device (FTD) already certified in July 2021, the FFS manufactured by Leonardo in collaboration with CAE covers the entire range of advanced flight simulation training for the Leonardo AW139 intermediate twin engine helicopter in Japan. The simulators are installed at Suzuyo facilities located nearby Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport and will be operated by its subsidiary Fuji Aviation Systems (FAS). Further enhancing safety and operation training effectiveness, Leonardo will continue supporting and collaborating to establish the Fuji Training Academy.
