Melbourne, Australia, 15 September 2026 – Melbourne-based logistics and supply chain enterprise, Linfox Group, has taken delivery of Australia’s first Airbus H160 helicopter, marking a landmark moment for next-generation rotorcraft in the region.

With this delivery, Linfox became the first operator in Australia to bring the twin-engine Airbus H160 into service. The state-of-the-art helicopter will support the business and corporate aviation requirements of the Linfox Group, operating across Australia’s diverse geography from urban hubs to regional destinations.

"Linfox has built its reputation over decades on the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and operational performance, and the H160 reflects exactly those principles," said Linfox founder, Lindsay Fox.

"Being the first to bring this aircraft into service in Australia is a proud moment for our team and a clear statement of our commitment to operating the most technologically advanced platform on the market."

The H160 is certified for up to 12 passengers. Linfox Aviation has selected an 8-passenger configuration, allowing guests to fully experience the aircraft’s expansive windows, airy cabin, and industry-leading technology.

"We are incredibly proud of this endorsement of the H160 by one of Australia’s most respected operators," said Olivier Michalon, Executive Vice President of Global Business at Airbus Helicopters. "The H160 joins their fleet as the world’s most technologically advanced medium twin-engine helicopter, exceptionally suited for Australia’s varied terrain," he added.

The aircraft was prepared for its entry into service locally by Pacific Crown Helicopters (PCH), a Part 145 certified maintenance organisation and long-standing Airbus Helicopters partner, ensuring support to the highest international airworthiness standards from day one.

The H160 is designed as a multi-role helicopter capable of performing a wide range of missions, including public services (such as search and rescue, homeland security, law enforcement, and emergency medical services), military operations, offshore transportation, and private and business aviation.

The aircraft is engineered to optimise performance and safety. Featuring the advanced Helionix avionics suite, the aircraft delivers highly intuitive flight controls, vastly improved situational awareness, and a significantly lightened workload for pilots.

Designed for diverse landscapes like Australia’s, the H160 Arrano engines deliver up to an 18% reduction in fuel burn compared to previous-generation engines in its class, and the aircraft is certified to operate on fuel blends containing up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

Additionally, its curved Blue Edge main rotor blades reduce the aircraft's external acoustic footprint by up to 50% compared to previous generation helicopters.

Through continuous design improvements, the H160’s official empty weight has been reduced, providing operators with an increased payload of 100 kg or an additional 60 nm of range.

Today’s delivery ensures Australia joins an exclusive but rapidly growing global footprint of more than 70 H160 helicopters operating worldwide, which have already accumulated more than 14,000 flight hours in just the past year.
