Santiago de Chile, April 2026 – CENTUM is advancing the integration of the Lifeseeker SAR XL S10M system into C295 maritime surveillance aircraft (MSA/VIGMA) for Spain, as part of the programme led by Airbus Defence and Space.
Within this framework, the company introduces Lifeseeker SAR XL S10M, an evolved version of the system designed to optimise integration with mission systems and meet broader operational and military qualification standards, thereby expanding its compatibility across a wider range of airborne platforms.
The initial order includes the first units for the Spanish fleet, with deliveries expected in the coming months.
The programme also paves the way for integration into other international C295 fleets, such as the Royal Canadian Air Force’s CC-295 Kingfisher. This order, under the Fixed-Wing Search and Rescue (FWSAR) programme, has already been formalised and includes a fleet of eight systems plus one additional unit.
Lifeseeker enables the high-precision location of mobile phones in complex environments, helping to improve response times and mission effectiveness in search and rescue operations across both maritime and land scenarios, while also extending its application to emergency response and disaster recovery operations, such as earthquakes or floods.
“The progress of the programme and the delivery of the first units for VIGMA in the coming months mark an important milestone in the operational deployment of Lifeseeker,” said Javier Chamorro, Executive President of CENTUM. “In addition, the expansion to new international fleets reinforces operator confidence in this type of capability for SAR missions.”
The announcement is made as part of FIDAE, one of the leading aerospace and defence events in Latin America, where CENTUM will be present at the Spain Pavilion (Hall B, Stand 120).
