Air Rescue Systems Unveils ARS 2.0, a Next-Generation Training Program, and Advanced Rescue Technology at VAI Verticon

New training initiatives and the live demos of industry-leading SAR mark a new era for Air Rescue Systems

Broomfield, CO – March 10, 2025 - Air Rescue Systems (ARS),  a Vita Inclinata company providing advanced technology, comprehensive helicopter rescue training, and field-proven equipment, announced today the launch of ARS 2.0—an enhanced, real-world training program designed to equip helicopter rescue teams with the latest techniques, technology, and mission-critical skills. The company will introduce this next-generation approach at VAI Verticon, where it will also debut the first-ever trade show demonstration of the Air Reach Seat™ alongside its suite of trusted rescue solutions engineered for precision and performance in the field.

ARS 2.0: Redefining Helicopter Rescue Training

ARS 2.0 represents a significant evolution in helicopter rescue training, integrating real-world scenarios, the latest technology, and advanced methodologies to prepare military, law enforcement, and civilian teams for the most challenging missions. The expanded curriculum plans, led by ARS's new Vice President of Training, Mike Martin, emphasize high-stakes decision-making and hands-on instruction using ARS's field-tested equipment and expertise. Mike's leadership will bring a new level of customization to ARS's specialized training programs, ensuring that they cater to the diverse needs of a wide range of air rescue organizations. By personalizing the curriculum to accommodate both established rescue teams looking for advanced training and an external viewpoint, as well as newcomers needing foundational knowledge, ARS will ensure that each organization receives the specific guidance and support they require to optimize their rescue capabilities.

"We're not just improving training—we're revolutionizing how rescue teams prepare for real-world missions," said Bob Cockell, President of Air Rescue Systems. "This program ensures that every helicopter crew member, from pilots to hoist operators, is equipped with the skills and knowledge to execute rescues with greater precision, speed, and safety in their own aircraft."

Live Demonstrations of Industry-Leading Rescue Technology

During VAI Verticon, ARS will conduct hands-on demonstrations of its premier rescue equipment, including:

  • Air Reach Seat™: A high-performance work platform designed to enhance safety, comfort, and efficiency for linemen performing power utility operations from helicopters. Featuring stainless steel construction, aircraft-grade aluminum components, and rescue-rated hardware, the Air Reach Seat™ eliminates circulation loss and fatigue associated with traditional harnesses while providing exceptional maneuverability for linemen and flight stability for pilots.
  • Vita Rescue System (VRS): An advanced load stabilization system that prevents spin, swing, and rotation during hoist operations. Using high-powered fans and data-driven controls, the VRS provides hoist operators with precision control via a wireless pendant, ensuring safer, faster extractions in challenging environments, including water, mountainous terrain, and urban settings.
  • PELICAN R.E.D.: A rapid extraction device engineered for water, high-angle, and aerial hoist rescues. Designed with an open-mesh structure for superior buoyancy and drainage, the PELICAN maximizes speed, handling, and visibility while minimizing risks for rescuers and victims in high-risk scenarios.

"ARS and Vita Inclinata are committed to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in helicopter rescue operations," said Matt Christensen, Executive Vice President of Aerospace Sales at Vita Aerospace. "With ARS 2.0 and our lineup of advanced rescue solutions, we are delivering the training and technology needed to elevate mission success and improve safety across the industry."

Media and industry professionals are invited to visit the ARS-Vita Inclinata booth to learn more about ARS 2.0, experience live product demonstrations, and discuss the future of helicopter rescue training.
