SPECTRUM AEROMED ACHIEVES FAA CERTIFICATION FOR TWO NEW AIRBUS HELICOPTERS STCs: H145 D-3 AND SUPER PUMA VARIANTS

Fargo, ND – Spectrum Aeromed, a global leader in air medical solutions, is expanding its certified helicopter offerings with two new Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for Airbus helicopters. The certifications cover the H145 D-3 and Super Puma variants, giving operators more options for high-quality, innovative medical interiors designed for the demands of aeromedical transport.

These newly certified STCs enable the installation of Spectrum Aeromed’s advanced medical interiors in the Airbus H145 D-3 and Super Puma variants—both widely used for Emergency Medical Services, Search and Rescue, and critical care transport. With their spacious cabins and operational flexibility, these platforms serve as an ideal foundation for life-saving missions.

In the H145 D-3, Spectrum Aeromed offers an advanced ambulance module that integrates electrical, oxygen and pneumatic outlets for critical care needs. The seat track mounted system installs securely without extensive aircraft modifications. This module is now certified to accommodate the Spectrum Aeromed stretcher, a Ferno 9 stretcher, or an infant transport deck, giving operators multiple configurations to support a range of patient transport requirements.

For Super Puma variants, the newly certified STC covers the Airbus SA330J, AS332C1e, AS332L, and EC225LP. This approval includes a patient stacker system and ambulance modules, offering versatile air medical configurations. The patient stacker system supports dual-patient transport and can be fitted with an equipment rack for mounting medical devices, along with an electrical rack for power management. Ambulance modules integrate an oxygen cylinder and provide a streamlined setup for critical care transport. Operators can install two units at once, selecting either two patient stackers, two ambulance modules, or one of each to fit their mission needs.

Spectrum Aeromed has been working diligently to expand its rotor-wing offerings, making certified air medical solutions more accessible to a wider range of operators. “We are always focused on developing solutions that help air medical teams do their jobs more effectively,” said Chase McCown, President of Spectrum Aeromed. “These new certifications allow more operators to equip their aircraft with the best solutions to stay mission-ready.”

Attendees of Verticon 2025 will have the opportunity to learn more about Spectrum Aeromed’s newly certified Airbus STCs and discuss how these solutions can enhance their air medical operations. At Booth #12153, Spectrum Aeromed will showcase a range of rotor-wing interior configurations, including the Airbus H135 roll-on gurney solution, pivoting stretchers, and other critical care air medical equipment.
