Drone Forge places inaugural order of Airbus Flexrotor

Paris, France, 18 June 2025  – Australian aerospace start-up Drone Forge and Airbus Helicopters have signed an agreement to purchase six Flexrotor uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) comprising 17 aircraft, making it the single largest order for the Flexrotor to date.

Airbus partners with Singapore to explore crewed-uncrewed teaming with the H225M

Paris, France, 18 June 2025 – Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) has signed an agreement with Airbus Helicopters on crewed-uncrewed teaming capabilities with the H225M Medium Lift helicopter operated by the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and Airbus Helicopters’ Flexrotor uncrewed aerial system (UAS). The partnership aims to explore how crewed-uncrewed teaming can enhance situational awareness and improve mission outcomes through a flight demonstration.

Sikorsky Successfully Flies Rotor Blown Wing UAS in Helicopter and Airplane Modes

STRATFORD, Conn, March 10, 2025 – Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company (NYSE: LMT) has successfully validated the advanced control laws to successfully fly a ‘rotor blown wing’ uncrewed aerial system (UAS) in both helicopter and airplane modes. Powered by batteries, the 115 pounds (52kg) twin prop-rotor prototype has demonstrated operational stability and maneuverability across all flight regimes, and the potential to scale the unique vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) design to larger sizes requiring hybrid-electric propulsion.
