Coulson Aviation Procures World’s Only CH-47D Level D Full Flight Simulator and a UH-60A/L Level D Simulator

Thermal, California – October 24, 2023: Coulson Aviation, a world leader in aerial firefighting, has significantly increased its training capabilities via the procurement of two Level D full flight simulators – the world’s only CH-47D simulator and one of two existing UH-60A and L simulators – from CAE in Arlington, Texas. The simulators, which are night vision goggle (NVG) compatible and currently undergoing significant upgrades, will be located in a new simulator facility at Coulson’s Thermal, California base.

Coulson Aviation continues to support day and night aerial firefighting efforts via Los Angeles County, Orange County, and Ventura County Year-Round Contract Awards

LOS ANGELES – July 13, 2023 – Coulson Aviation is pleased to announce its selection as the only private helicopter operator for the fifth consecutive year to support Southern California’s Quick Reaction Force (QRF) to fight wildfires. Contracting with Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura County fire departments with its fleet of Very Large Helitankers, pilots, and support crews, this new contract extends Coulson’s support of the QRF to 24/7/365, a first ever opportunity for the company and the counties and the only contract of its kind worldwide.

Coulson Aviation provides aerial firefighting support to Argentina through Canadian Commercial Corporation

Port Alberni, B.C. – Coulson Aviation announced that it is providing aerial firefighting support services to Argentina via a CDN $6.8 million dollar government to government (G2G) contract between the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) and Argentina’s Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MAyDS). Beginning in January 2023, one of Coulson’s CH-47 helitankers is on a contract for a four-month period to meet Argentina’s aerial fire needs, ensuring quick response to large-scale wildfires.
