Avi-Go reported 69,320 business-aviation flights worldwide during the week of Oct. 26-Nov. 1, up roughly 39% from the prior week's 49,805. The Challenger family was the week's biggest winner: in the Americas, the Challenger 300 led all aircraft models with 8,866.47 flight hours. The Challenger family may appear as a single fleet in utilization reports, but the individual aircraft generations show much more segmentation when it comes to buyer preferences. As of Nov. 5, GlobalAir.com's marketplace shows seven Challenger 300s for sale with an average asking price of about $10 million and an average market time of 182 days. Challenger 350 inventory stands at five aircraft with an average market time of 62 days. Challenger 3500 inventory consists of a single aircraft that has been on the market 16 days. That creates very different buyer experiences despite all three aircraft sharing the same lineage. The utilization data highlights the unusual position the Challenger family occupies in business aviation. Many aircraft programs are either mature fleets with extensive resale activity or newer aircraft with limited market history. The Challenger family spans both worlds. The Challenger 300 remains one of the most recognizable and widely operated super-midsize jets in service, while the Challenger 350 and Challenger 3500 extend the lineage into newer generations (and improvements). That gives the family a presence across multiple stages of the ownership cycle, from long-established aircraft with extensive operating histories to newer aircraft that remain relatively scarce in the secondary market. As a result, utilization leadership is being supported by aircraft that occupy very different positions in the fleet, ownership and transaction landscape despite sharing the same family name. Why it matters That gap says the newest generations of Challengers, while produced in ample numbers (the Challenger 3500 crossed the 200-delivery threshold in July 2026), are still earning their keep and not being sold off. It's worth watching whether that scarcity shows up in asking prices once more 3500s start reaching the resale market.
