Business jet activity up 3.9% as North America and Europe diverge

Aircraft activity is an early read on demand and direction in business aviation. WINGX's June report shows global activity running above last year, though the regional picture is pulling apart. June activity by region For the first half of 2026, global business jet activity rose 3.9% against the same period in 2025. June activity increased 2.7% year on year. North America and Africa posted the strongest growth, up 4.6% and 5.2% respectively. Europe slipped 0.5% against last year. Activity across the rest of the world fell 2.6%, driven mainly by the Middle East's 15% year-over-year contraction. Business jet activity across the 16 FIFA World Cup host cities averaged 2,467 movements per day from June 11 to 27, 7% above the pre-tournament baseline. Host-city traffic eased around the July 4 holiday, which WINGX notes typically brings lighter bizjet activity, as the tournament moved into the Round of 32. Why North America and Europe are diverging The divergence between regions is the signal to watch as opposed to the overall growth rate. North America continues to grow while European activity has recently flattened. Both regions posted growth earlier in the year, with the June split a notable change in direction. What the split means for buyers and sellers Strong North American utilization points to continued demand, though values still turn on inventory, financing, and the broader economy. It's still too soon to tell, but softer European activity suggests cooler conditions across the region if the trend persists. These indicators are pointing towards a market which favors sellers holding US-based aircraft and buyers shopping European inventory. What to watch through summer One month does not make a trend. The question through the summer is whether North America's lead widens or Europe steadies, and the next two WINGX reports will show which way it breaks.
