Sole supplier of Eclipse 500 and 550 parts is going out of business

Resurgent Aviation Solutions (RAS), an essential company for the Eclipse 500 and 550 fleet, has announced that it will be liquidating all of its assets and will begin ceasing operations. RAS is the only company that manufactures critical airworthiness parts for the Eclipse 500 and 550. It will hold an auction for its remaining finished goods, and its tooling, equipment, and repair components will be disposed of once it's concluded. The company attempted to sell its business for multiple months and now encourages Eclipse operators and owners to obtain the spare parts needed to assure the long-term airworthiness of their aircraft. "We would suggest assuming that every item of interest is the last one, as it may well be," the company stated on JetForums.net. There are currently approximately 260 aircraft in the in-service Eclipse 500 and 550 fleet. Without a supply source, the required parts for these aircraft will start to dwindle, driving up prices. Eventually, the entire fleet will be non-airworthy. Brokers handling Eclipse should advise clients that a pre-buy inspection will now include an audit of remaining parts, including the critical autopilot servos. RAS states that approximately 30 Eclipse jets will become unairworthy from the shortage of these servos, giving the fleet a remaining lifespan of 8 years. We can only share in your disappointment that we have reached this point. It really is the end for RAS and, as a consequence, for Eclipse 500/550 customers. RAS is not selling any of the equipment or tooling, either, as they say their equipment will be going to an industrial shredder to be destroyed. "As we look around the facility at all the tools and test equipment we have built, and all the inventory we have acquired, and the repair process we developed, we are truly heartbroken that we have no successor to build upon our work.
