Textron Aviation announced on Tuesday that its new service facility at the Essendon Fields Airport in Melbourne, Australia.
The facility more than doubles the company's footprint at the airport to over 35,000 sq. ft. It is designed to provide factory-direct support to the over 1,400 Cessna, Beechcraft and Hawker aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region. The location has an on-site parts stockroom, a customer lounge and an expanded service space. Textron states that the facility strengthens its global service network and reflects its commitment to expanding capacity.
"We've supported customers in Australia for decades, and we continue to invest where our customers tell us they need more capacity and faster access to factory direct expertise," said Brian Rohloff, Textron Aviation's senior VP of Global Customer Support. "The Essendon Fields facility is a significant investment in a highly important region, strengthening our service network and expanding service capability, parts access and technical support across Australia and the Asia Pacific region."
The service center is part of Textron Aviation's plan to strengthen regional support in Australia, as well as recent facility expansions and upgrades in Perth. The company will host a formal grand opening event for the new center in August. Additional details will be released closer to the celebration.
