Tecnam unveils new P2012 VIP aircraft at AERO Friedrichshafen

Tecnam has taken the model of its 11-seat commuter plane and upgraded it for top-class travel. The company unveiled its new P2012 VIP aircraft on Wednesday in Germany at AERO Friedrichshafen. The company states that the new iteration of the twin-engine P2012 Traveller offers the largest cabin volume in its class with a bespoke environment that can adapt to customer needs. It features six hand-stitched, genuine-leather seats with eight degrees of freedom and retractable armrests. There are two electronic, retractable tray tables for dining or working during flight. The aircraft also features adjustable LED ambient lighting and an advanced three-layer soundproofing system to reduce noise from flight. For passengers who want extra ear protection, LEMO headset plugs are available at every seat. "The P2012 VIP is the ultimate expression of Italian design and aeronautical engineering," Tecnam CEO Paolo Pascale Langer said. "We wanted to create an aircraft where the journey is just as magnificent as the destination. By combining the rugged reliability of the P2012 platform with bespoke luxury, smart technology, and unparalleled cabin space, we have crafted an environment that truly feels like the finest private club in the sky." The twin-engine is outfitted with Starlink-capable USB-C ports, as well as standard 110V/220V inverters and power sockets to ensure constant connectivity during flight. The bespoke galley has a chilled compartment and a dedicated coffee station for drinks. Tecnam also highlighted the P2010 MK3 and the P92 MKII at AERO Friedrichshafen. The MK3 is the latest of its single-engine four-seater aircraft. It introduces new interior design alongside premium options such as a factory-installed air conditioning system and an advanced Garmin software package. The company states these new options offer maximum comfort and advanced situational awareness while flying cross-country. The P92 MKII is the powerplant option of its high-wing aircraft. It is powered by the 141-horsepower, fuel-injected Rotax 915iS engine for high-altitude performance and modern efficiency. Tecnam claims it will perfectly satisfy the needs of modern aviators and flight schools. "Our 2026 lineup proves that Tecnam never stops listening to our customers," said Tecnam CSO Walter Da Costa. "Whether an operator needs a luxurious twin-engine VIP transport, a highly capable family four-seater with brand new air conditioning and Garmin avionics, or the most efficient flight training fleet on the market, we have the perfect, modern solution ready to fly."
