Daher Aircraft TBM 980 makes European show debut at AERO Friedrichshafen

The TBM 980 and the Kodiak 900 are making their European show debut at AERO Friedrichshafen from April 22 through 25. Daher Aircraft also announced that it has delivered the 1,300th TBM family aircraft. The TBM 980 is displayed at Daher Aircraft's exhibit at Friedrichshafen Airport in Hall A3 at Stand #305. It is the latest addition to the TBM aircraft family, with Garmin G3000 PRIME avionics and a Pratt andamp; Whitney Canada PT6E-66XT engine. The avionics system should provide faster processing speeds, more responsive system performance and expanded data management capabilities. The engine has a dual-channel digital engine and propeller electronic control system (EPECS). It also features a flight deck with three 14 in. interactive touchscreen displays. Daher claims pilot workload is reduced through customizable presets and a streamlined user interface. "Customer feedback to the TBM 980 has been unanimous: the aircraft is living up to its ‘Fly Differently' tagline by providing pilots with a next-generation flight deck that elevates operational capability, the ease of use and overall flight safety," said Daher Aircraft CEO Nicolas Chabbert. The Kodiak 900 is also on display at the company's exhibit. Its presence is considered the start of a multi-month European tour. There are planned stops to demonstrate the Kodiak product line's unique combination of STOL performance, payload capacity, operational flexibility and low operating costs. The 900 was launched as a larger and faster evolution of the Kodiak 100 in 2022. It features a 3.9 ft fuselage stretch, a cruise speed of 210 KTAS and a maximum range of 1,130 nm. Currently, the Kodiak family shares a single final assembly line in Sandpoint, Idaho. The company also announced the delivery of the 1,300th TBM aircraft. The milestone turboprop is also TBM 980, which was delivered to a U.S. customer. Daher Aircraft states the achievement reflects the continued global demand for the TBM series among owners, business aviation operators and in utility operations. The company acquired the product line in 2014 and has introduced six consecutive versions in the TBM 900-series. It claims half of all TBMs delivered are from the TBM 900 series and the combined TBM fleet has over 2.78 million flight hours in operations.
