Tecnam Aircraft has introduced the MOSAIK59 product line to meet the demands of the FAA's MOSAIC regulations.
The company claims the line is specifically engineered to maximize the new privileges available to the aviation community, especially sport pilots. The name MOSAIK59 comes from Tecnam's core engineering principles. The Modular Optimized Sport Aviation Initiative (M.O.S.A.I) is the company's commitment to modular design for adaptability in aircraft and K59 represents the 59-knot clean stall speed, the performance metric defined by the FAA for sport aircraft.
The MOSAIC rule first took effect in Oct. 2025 with additional privileges for sport pilots and will add new Part 22 LSA regulations in July 2026. It has lifted the previous 1,320 lb weight limit, opening up the sport category to twin-engine operations and four-seater aircraft.
"When we read the Rule for the first time, we thought it was shaped around our mission, now more than ever confirmed: making flying easier, safer, and accessible for everyone," said Giovanni Pascale Langer, managing director at Tecnam S.p.A. "MOSAIC opens a new era of opportunities across the aviation community. Tecnam is ready to tailor our most trusted platforms to help more people access aviation with plug-and-play solutions. "Your Ambition. Our Wings" is now stronger than ever with MOSAIC."
