Founded in 1941, Pryor Field (DCU) has served as a vital economic engine and transportation hub for North Alabama for more than eight decades. The new anniversary logo will serve as the visual centerpiece of the 85th anniversary celebration and will be featured throughout the year on signage, marketing materials, digital platforms, special events and community outreach.
"Reaching 85 years is a remarkable milestone for Pryor Field and one we're incredibly proud of," said Adam Fox, CEO of the Pryor Field Airport Authority. "This anniversary allows us to reflect on the generations of leadership, employees, partners, and aviators who built Pryor Field into what it is today, while also highlighting the continued growth and opportunities ahead."
The 85th anniversary logo was designed to reflect Pryor Field's legacy in aviation, its deep roots in the community, and its ongoing role in supporting regional economic development. The logo was created by Autumn Fox of Elevated Design Co. as a visual representation of the 85 years of safety, service and growth that DCU has provided to North Alabama.
Throughout 2026, Pryor Field Airport Authority will host and participate in a series of commemorative activities, announcements, and special events highlighting key moments from its history, major achievements and its vision for the future. Additional details about anniversary events and initiatives will be released in the coming months.
"This anniversary is not just about looking back — it's about celebrating the role Pryor Field continues to play in connecting people, supporting business, and strengthening our region," added Adam Fox, CEO. "We invite our community and partners to join us throughout the year as we recognize this important milestone together."
