HondaJet Elite II to be first very light business jet with Emergency Autoland

Honda Aircraft Company has announced that the HondaJet Elite II has been certified by the FAA as the first production model twin-turbine very light business jet equipped with Emergency Autoland (EAL). Certification flight testing for EAL was finished in Oct. 2025. The company states that U.S. HondaJet owners and operators highly anticipate the installation of this technology and that it is working toward receiving certifications in other markets to equip EAL. In Oct. 2024, the HondaJet Elite II became the first twin-turbine very light business jet to equip Autothrottle, which is related to the EAL system. "Adding Emergency Autoland to the HondaJet Elite II demonstrates our commitment to delivering new value to our customers," said Hideto Yamasaki, Honda Aircraft president and CEO. "I'm proud that our team is fulfilling on this promise by offering Emergency Autoland and giving our HondaJet Elite II customers greater peace of mind during every flight." It is designed with an over-the-wing engine mount, natural laminar flow and a composite fuselage for increased efficiency and performance. Honda states that the design of the jet is a unique integration of performance, efficiency, luxury and technology.
