Desert Jet is expanding its footprint in Colorado with two newly built, state-of-the-art hangars at Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN), serving Steamboat Springs and the greater Yampa Valley region.
The business aviation services company, which operates a full-service executive FBO and aircraft maintenance facilities in Palm Springs and Thermal, California, announced Wednesday it will manage the two 28,800-square-foot heated hangars at the airport.
The facilities were developed by Wiens Real Estate Ventures and HDN Investment Group, LLC, which entered into a business development and management agreement with Desert Jet. The hangars are capable of accommodating large-cabin aircraft, including the Gulfstream G800 and Bombardier Global 8000, and are designed to serve both based tenants and transient operators flying into the area for winter and year-round recreation.
"We are excited to partner with Desert Jet, whose reputation for excellence in aviation services aligns perfectly with our vision for Yampa Valley," said Tim Wiens, principal of Wiens Real Estate Ventures. "This collaboration is a pivotal step in enhancing the aviation experience in this world-class destination."
The Hayden expansion follows Desert Jet's previously announced plans to grow its FBO network beyond its flagship Desert Jet Center in the Palm Springs and Coachella Valley region. Company officials said the development represents a foundational step toward establishing a future full-service FBO in Colorado as part of a broader national growth strategy.
Under the agreement, Desert Jet will oversee the day-to-day operations of the hangars, extending its service model, which focuses on safety, hospitality, and operational expertise, to aircraft owners and operators visiting Colorado's mountain communities.
"We are proud to extend Desert Jet's national reputation for service excellence to Steamboat Springs and the Yampa Valley," said Desert Jet CEO Jared Fox. "These new facilities provide much-needed hangar space for aircraft of all sizes while introducing our culture of safety, care, and hospitality to the aviation community at Hayden."
Desert Jet announced that the Hayden location will provide secure short- and long-term hangar space for aircraft owners, charter operators, and guests. The company added that the Colorado expansion is the first of several planned growth initiatives in key destinations across the United States.
