Daher Kodiak 900 aircraft recieves Brazilian airworthiness certification

Daher Aircraft has announced that its Kodiak 900 has received certification by the Brazilian ANAC airworthiness authority. The Kodiak 900 has the same quality as the Kodiak 100 but has a fuselage length extension of 3.9 ft and a greater useful load. Its cruise speed was increased to 210 KTAS and its range was increased to 1,129 nm. Daher claims the 900 has a 9% reduction in specific fuel consumption, which reduces its operating costs and cost-per-seat-mile. The aircraft was already certified by the FAA in 2022 and the EASA in 2023. "With Brazil's airworthiness certification, the Kodiak 900 now joins our Kodiak 100 to meet the country's full scope of transportation needs," said Daher CEO Nicolas Chabbert. "These aircraft are perfectly suited for everything from serving the agriculture, farming, construction and public safety sectors to corporate travel, regional airline modernization and utility missions such as humanitarian operations and parachute jumping." The aircraft's cabin is 309 ft and features a 10-seat layout that can be arranged in multiple configurations. It is powered by a Pratt andamp; Whitney 900-shaft-horsepower PT6A-140A turboprop engine and has a five-blade Hartzell composite propeller. Daher states the propeller has a low 1,900 rpm setting that enables operations in noise-regulated areas. The Garmin G1000 NXi integrated avionics suite features glass displays and has automatic database logging for simplified flight and engine-performance tracking through GDL 60 datalink and PlaneSync technology.
