Textron Aviation has installed a new, permanent art display at the Career andamp; Learning Center in Wichita, Kansas.
The display is called The Heart of Our Story and was designed to honor the company's journey. It was designed and built entirely in-house. Textron claims each part represents key moments and values in company history. The circular aluminum panels are supposed to represent the precision and dedication of the company's employees and the large red circle with a propeller is supposed to represent the passion for aviation. Aircraft silhouettes are to reflect the Beechcraft and Cessna brands and the red and blue sweeping arcs and contrails are to pay tribute to its founders, Clyde Cessna and Walter and Olive Ann Beech. The engine casing is supposed to showcase the technical prowess and collaborative achievements of the company.
"This installation is more than just art — it's a tribute to the people who make Textron Aviation extraordinary," said Matthew Harrell, industrial design supervisor and lead project designer. "It's a reminder that our legacy is built by individuals who imagine, create and soar to new heights together."
