Archer has announced that it plans to build an air taxi network based in the Miami metropolitan area.
Archer states its goal is to connect Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and West Palm Beach with 10 to 20-minute flights that bypass ground traffic. Customers will be able to travel between the Miami International Airport (MIA), Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), along with several general aviation airports. Hard Rock Stadium and Apogee Golf Club will also be upgrading their existing helipads to enable electric operations and enable air taxis.
"Miami has never been afraid to bet on the future," said Miami Mayor Francis Suarez. "We're a city that attracts visionaries, embraces breakthrough technology, and turns bold ideas into real impact. For years, I've worked with Archer as they've advanced a vision for an air-taxi network that will elevate Miami's position as a global capital for innovation and mobility. What they're building isn't just transformational transportation; it embodies the Miami mindset: we lead, we innovate, and we redefine what's possible."
The company has partnered with Related Ross and Dragon Global's Magic City Innovation District to develop new vertiports and ready existing ones. Related Ross will develop a vertiport within its West Palm Beach downtown development and Dragon Global's Magic City Innovation District will develop a vertiport in Miami's Little Haiti area.
