New aircraft standard operating procedures manual released for improved safety

NBAA, CAE and FlightSafety International have published a new aircraft standard operating procedure (SOP) manual to improve safety. The SOP manual is designed to help Part 91 and 135 aircraft operators follow the same standards for single-pilot, multi-pilot, single-engine and multi-engine operations. It was developed with help and insight from manufacturers, business aircraft operators of all sizes and training experts, according to Aviation News. The SOPs should also produce stronger data for training programs to improve. "We're excited to introduce these SOPs with our partners after years of work with operators, aircraft manufacturers and training experts," said Ed Bolen, NBAA president and CEO. "These SOPs will ensure everyone is following proven best practices - creating a more predictable safety environment for all."
