Turboprop aircraft crashes on runway, damages other aircraft in Montana

Image from Flathead County Sheriff's OfficeA Socata TBM700N (TBM850) crashed on the runway at Kalispell City Airport (S27) in Montana on Monday, hit several aircraft and caught fire. An initial investigation indicates the aircraft stalled before landing on runway 13, causing the pilot to lose control. According to the Aviation Safety Network, the Socata skidded from the left side of the runway to the left platform and hit a parked Cherokee. The Cherokee then spun into a Citation jet. The Cherokee's horizontal stabilizer and the Citation's right aileron were damaged. The post-crash fire consumed the Socata and a parked Swearingen SX-300, as well as damaging the left wing of a Cessna 172. It then spread to the grass parts of the runway. All four occupants of the Socata escaped and two were treated for minor injuries. According to KPAX news, no one was in the stationary aircraft.
