GLADA celebrates 5 years, expands board

The Global Aircraft Dealers Association has grown into its role as the leading advocate in the fair business of buying, selling and leasing business aircraft, celebrating five years and continued growth in industry-leading advocacy. In 2019 GLADA began its journey into leading the industry in advocacy, resource development and standard-setting. As the organization celebrates the five-year milestone, it looks forward to the bright future ahead. Five years in, GLADA is 120 members strong, including 67 broker members and 53 industry members. GLADA is committed to continued excellence and has already welcomed 12 members in 2024. Growth also includes expanded initiatives, with the GLADA Member Only Alerts to facilitate network communication and the interactive Slack platform to enable seamless member engagement in 2022. Along with welcoming 12 new members this year, GLADA has expanded the depth of its initiatives. GLADA has established five critical membership committees that focus on Best Practices andamp; Uniform Contracts, Membership, Marketing, Education and the Frequent Flyers Committee for professionals under 40. GLADA's dedication to the industry and the future of aviation was solidified through a term scholarship with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.Expanding the boardMemo Montemayor The five-year anniversary celebration coincides with the addition of two esteemed industry leaders to GLADA's board. Memo Montemayor, president and founder of EMCJET is joining GLADA's board. Montemayor founded EMCJET in 2018 and has since propelled it to becoming a frontrunner in international aircraft transactions, managing more than 35 private jets and brokering the sale of over 100 planes. His approach reaches far beyond aviation to ventures in sports sponsorships and partnerships with next-gen companies like Lilium. His entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering dedication to excellence have made Montemayor an excellent addition to GLADA's mission.Phil Jordan Phil Jordan, the president and CEO of Central Flying Service, with over 35 years of experience in the industry, is also joining the board. Joran's career has ranged from roles as a commercial pilot and flight instructor to executive positions. Under Jordan's leadership, Tempus Aircraft became the top Pilatus dealership globally for two consecutive years. His entrepreneurial ventures, knowledge, expertise and commitment to customer satisfaction have bolstered his reputation in the BizAv sector. Montemayor and Jordan are joining other board members Billy Meyer, Texas Aero executive chairman and founding member; Tom Flinn, chairman of Flinn Aviation; Curt Banglesdorf, vice chairman of Charlie Bravo Aviation; Mike Zabkar, founding member of U.S. Jet Search; Forrest Owens, Aviation Legal Counsel; Brandt Boyle of Sparfell Aviation Group; and Mike McCracken of Hawkeye Aircraft Acquisitions.Looking to the future GLADA has its sights set on the future as it celebrates this milestone anniversary. The organization plans to continue fostering growth, integrity and excellence in business aviation and the two new board members will bring fresh perspectives, ideas and leadership to help GLADA excel.
