Tecnam shared on Wednesday that FlyBy, Spain's leading General Aviation Flight Training Organization, placed an order for an additional 10 Tecnam P2008JC and two new P2006T NG to supplement the existing fleet of 31 aircraft. This is the largest order from a Spanish ATO that continues to grow and new orders are already scheduled for 2025.
"We have chosen Tecnam for our fleet for its modern design and low operational costs," FlyBy CEO Alex Alvarez said. "There is nothing comparable to the P2006T in the market. Its quality, capabilities and total cost of ownership: acquisition and operational cost, are second to none."
FlyBy's current fleet includes eight P2008JC, three P2006T, three P2002JF and two P mentors. Tecnam unveiled the new P2006T NG on April 17, the opening day of AERO Friedrichshafen. The new training aircraft is a result of over 300 improvements to the current P2006T MkII. Pilots can benefit from the additional front door for the copilot and the external access to the baggage compartment. The windows have been redesigned and are now larger to allow for improved visibility. The powerplant is provided by twin fuel-injected Rotax9121Sc3 engines and offers high altitude efficiency and reduced fuel consumption of 14 lt/hr per engine. The wing position and anti-collision lights have been integrated into the winglets and are equipped with state-of-the-art LED technology, These changes have improved efficiency, style and visibility while offering an eco-friendly and durable lighting solution.
The next generation version has undergone interior improvements like a central console to house the FMS GCU477 keyboard for the efficient management of all Garmin avionics, including the GFC700 3-axis autopilot and the G100 NXi, offering an intuitive pilot interface with total connectivity between the tablet and cockpit with the Garmin Flight Stream avionics system. Tecnam is also offering a super premium version, the P2006 NG SPORT. The premium version features an all-Italian design with a black leather dashboard, soft LED lights, carbon-look panels, yokes and central console covered in leather, and meticulously designed and handcrafted details. The cabin features Alcantara headliners, plush moquette seating, leather side walls and side panels with carbon-look logos.
The P2008JC features a carbon-fiber fuselage, metal wings and stabilator, offering a large number of advantages over traditional aircraft. The combination of both composite material and metal results in a fuel-efficient and low-noise aircraft. The P2008JC MkII version features many enhancements, including a new avionics suite, a newly designed dashboard and glare shield, and the introduction of the Garmin G3X Tough display with MD302 attitude instrument, also available as VFR Night.

The Tecnam fleet offers efficiency, performance and value to the modern flight school while meeting certification standards. The efficient fleet has low CO2 emissions and a recent study has shown that flight schools operating with Tecnam's single and twin-engine aircraft can reduce emissions by up to 60 percent, or 10 tons of CO2 for each student by the time they achieve their commercial pilot license.
"We are pleased to support the growth of modern flight schools such as FlyBy," Tecnam Chief Sales Officer Walter Da Costa said. "Commercial operators urgently need pilots trained on modern aircraft with glass cockpits and the latest instrumental procedures."
