Gulfstream G700 earns additional FAA certifications

Gulfstream announced Monday that the newly certified G700 has earned additional FAA certifications. The jet earned its FAA-type certification on March 29 and now has additional production and interior supplemental type certifications, accelerating the plane to customer deliveries and entry into service. The G700 cabin supplemental type certifications approve the interior outfitting of the jet and its cabin air purification system. The FAA Production Certification has confirmed that the Gulfstream production processes for the G700 are compliant with federal aviation regulations The FAA issued the PC following an extensive audit of the company's engineering, supplier, manufacturing and quality systems, ensuring the G700 will be produced in accordance with the FAA-approved design.RELATED STORY:Gulfstream G700 achieves FAA certification "Receiving these additional clearances so quickly on the heels of FAA-type certification showcases how mature the G700 program is," Gulfstream President Mark Burns said. The G700 will feature the most spacious cabin in the business aviation industry, along with additional enhancements like the Gulfstream Cabin Experience with a cabin air purification system. 100 percent fresh air, the lowest cabin altitude in the industry, quiet noise levels and 20 large windows. The G700 is being manufactured at Gulfstream's Savannah headquarters, along with all of its ultra-large and large-cabin aircraft. The production methods for the next-gen Gulfstream fleet were designed with the Savannah-based research and development team and include 3D model designs, advanced automation and robotic and bonding techniques resulting in unprecedented quality and precision.
