Desert Jet partnered with TITAN Aviation Fuels to establish a supply of SAF at its flagship FBO, Desert Jet Center at the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport (TRM), and use SAF for its charter aircraft fleet.
This partnership is part of Desert Jet's commitment to sustainability and an ongoing mission to reduce its carbon footprint. By adding SAF to its FBO, Desert Jet can provide clients with a sustainable option while traveling, contributing to the industry's greener future. The SAF will be supplied by TITAN Aviation Fuels and produced by World Energy.
"We at Titan Fuels look forward to working with Desert Jet to support their SAF initiative by providing a source for their current and future sustainable fuel needs," Titan Aviation Fuels EVP Mike Allen said.
The fuel is a low-carbon alternative to Jet-A fuel. The SAF is made from agricultural waste and residues that have been converted into a renewable fuel source to largely reduce carbon emissions compared to traditional, fossil-based jet fuel. The Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials has certified that this SAF meets the same safety and performance standards as conventional Jet-A fuel and can be used for existing aircraft without any modifications.
Desert Jet is committed to sustainability, moving beyond adding SAF to its FBO and charter flights. This partnership and sustainability are part of a larger effort to promote awareness and the adoption of SAF in the aviation industry. This greater effort will help the industry to achieve the goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
"We are delighted to provide an option for aircraft management clients and FBO customers who desire to use a renewable alternative fuel source for their aircraft through our Desert Jet Center FBO," Desert Jet CEO Jared Fox said. "Offering SAF to our clients is a significant milestone for us as we continue to lead the way in sustainable aviation practices."
