Cirrus reveals Special Edition Vision Jet to celebrate 500th delivery

On Monday Cirrus revealed the Special Edition Vision Jet to celebrate 500 deliveries of the single-engine personal jet. The Vision Jet has been the best-selling jet for five years and become a staple for business and personal travel, used by Part 91 and 135 operators. Five Limited Edition Vision Jet liveries were created by the Cirrus Aircraft Xi Design team to celebrate the major milestone. The liveries were inspired by the jet's unique design and bold colorways. Owners can choose from five exterior color options complimentary to the Obsidian Black and Vision Blue paint. The lively graphic lines accentuate the movement of the exterior design. All of the commemorative aircraft are embellished with the 500th Limited Edition branding. The special edition interiors feature bold blues, greys and carbon fiber. The crew seats are a heathered grey Alcantara with a leather shoulder and headrest boasting the specialty embroidered 500th edition emblem. The center of the seat features a cascade of diamond-patterned leather with perforations for added style. The 500th delivery is a confirmation of the SF50's success on the market. The jet is equipped with Wi-Fi and the Cirrus IQ mobile app. The G2+ Vision Jet will streamline business travel with enhanced connectivity. The jet's success has been supported by an expansive selection of services and solutions to simplify ownership like inflight connectivity, aircraft management, progressive maintenance and a global support network. The Vision Jet is able to achieve many of the missions that larger corporate jets do but at a smaller operating cost. There is added flexibility for short regional and longer cross-country missions with a lower fuel burn rate thanks to the single-engine and V-tail design. All Vision Jets can be powered by SAF and according to Conklin andamp; De Decker, the jet has the lowest CO2 emissions rate compared to all general and business aviation jets. Cirrus Aircraft offers a large ecosystem for Vision Jet owners to cover support services for the entire lifetime of ownership. JetStream can simplify ownership through the determination of a predictable cost of ownership while still offering an inclusive range of services including recurrent training and subscriptions like Jeppesen Charts, Garmin Connext and Sirius XM Weather as well as maintenance coverage. There are progressive inspections for aircraft operating over 400 hours per year to help reduce the operating cost per hour and minimize downtime compared to the traditional FAA 100-hour requirements. The Vision Jet was released in 2016 the first evolution in the series, the Generation 2 Vision Jet, was introduced in 2019. The G2 Vision Jet included RVSM Certification to allow the aircraft to maintain an altitude of 31,000 feet. The altitude increase brought with it improved speed and efficiency. The G2 also included the addition of Autothrottle and engineering improvements to provide an additional payload of 200 pounds. Safe Return Autoland was introduced in 2020 and was based on the Garmin Auto Land system making the Vision Jet the first jet aircraft to receive and certify this feature. In 2021 the G2+ Vision Jet was introduced with an up to 25 percent increase in takeoff performance and equipped with Wi-Fi. The G2+ allowed for more convenient regional travel by unlocking 40 percent more airports than the previous generations of Vision Jets. This year Cirrus introduced the Cirrus IQ app and Garmin's Auto Radar to the Vision Jet. The latest features gave pilots an increase in situational awareness and connectivity through all phases of pre-flight and inflight activities. Cirrus has a history of innovation and is a two-time partnering recipient of the Robert J. Collier Trophy for the inclusion of the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System and Autoland on the Vision Jet. Through the addition of the Safe Return Autoland feature, Cirrus added a secondary safety system to the Vision Jet, able to land the plane at the nearest suitable airport while avoiding weather, traffic and terrain and communicating with Air Traffic Control and alerting emergency responders with just the push of a button.RELATED STORY:Cirrus adds Auto Radar and Cirrus IQ connectivity to Vision Jet With safety as a top priority, Cirrus introduced the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System as the first FAA-certified whole-airframe parachute safety system to be included as standard equipment on the aircraft. Since its introduction, 250 people have returned home safely as a result of the inclusion of CAPS. With a large global presence, Cirrus aircraft have surpassed 15 million hours. The 500th delivery is a testament to the success of the jet and the work Cirrus has done to offer customers safe a efficient options for air travel.
