This new facility is the latest in the FBO's commitment to providing excellent customer care and reinforces its service at the largest airport in Iowa.
The greenfield project includes a 5,000-square-foot guest terminal with striking interior and exterior design features. The terminal features an array of premium amenities to streamline travel. The general aviation terminal is complimented by a 30,000-square-foot hangar and office area. The hangar doors have a 27-foot opening and are able to accommodate jets as large as the Bombardier Global 6500, Dassault Falcon 7X and Gulfstream G700.
The project took about 20 months to complete. The new terminal is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified, strengthening the Signature's commitment to sustainability through healthy and efficient green building practices. The facility joins the nine other LEED-certified locations in Signature's vast network, including the recent opening in Bedford, Massachusetts.
Des Moines facility guests will experience amenities geared toward creating a seamless travel experience, making their trips through the terminal a welcoming experience. The terminal has a crafted general lounge featuring floor-to-ceiling views. An adjacent crew lounge offers additional space to rest and recuperate before or after travel.
For guests traveling through with meeting or business needs, Signature Des Moines offers a hi-tech conference room space and an internet café. There is a fully stocked coffee bar offering two distinct roasts as part of Signature's new coffee program and partnership with Lavazza. Relax and unwind at the facility in the comfortable outdoor fire pit area, offering customers a chance to take in the scenic views of the exterior and sky just outside of the Signature terminal. Signature is committed to exceptional guest care and experiences and will continue to work on additional facility openings and remodels through the new year, including the unveiling at the Key West International Airport (EYW) in early 2024.RELATED STORIES:Signature unveils renovated facility in MassachusettsSignature breaks ground on Huntsville FBO facility
