Daher announced Wednesday the recent delivery of its 100th TBM 960 to a California businessman and first-time TBM owner.
The new owner, Kevin Kaseff, is the President of Titan Real Estate Investment Group, Inc., a private commercial real estate investment firm. Kaseff is transitioning from a piston-engine plane to a high-speed turboprop with this purchase. He acquired the TBM 960 through Daher's authorized TBM distributor for the Southwestern U.S., Avex. "My home base is near Santa Maria on California's Central Coast, which has very limited commercial airline service, so having a personal airplane is extremely valuable as I continue to develop my business," Kaseff said. "When I decided to upgrade from a piston-engine airplane to a high-performance aircraft, I searched the market and found that the TBM 960 was the best choice for me."
The TBM 960 is the latest in Daher's line of pressurized single-engine turboprop aircraft. The aircraft was launched commercially in April 2022 and is the fifth evolution in the TBM 900 series.
"The TBM 960 offers the efficiency I was looking for in terms of speed, range and airport access," Kaseff said. "And its turboprop engine generates less carbon emissions than a jet."
The TBM 960 is equipped with the PT6E-66XT turboprop engine, built by Pratt andamp; Whitney Canada for the aircraft. The turboprop features Hartzell Propeller's five-blade composite propeller with the Raptor lightweight hub. The engine and prop system are both linked to the TBM 960's dual-channel digital Engine and Propeller Electronic Control System.TBM 960 flight deck
The EPECS will optimize powerplant performance from the engine's startup to landing while reducing pilot workload. The system will integrate all functions while protecting the engine's life. EPECS enabled the pilot to fly using more precise settings. When flying at Daher's recommended cruise setting of 380 kts the TBM 960's fuel consumption rate is just 57 U.S. gallons per hour, at a 10 percent fuel economy compared to the maximum cruise setting for better sustainability.
Daher uses digital power throughout the TBM 960, including the Prestige cabin, which features a new environmental control system produced by Enviro Syetems, Inc. Interior enhancements include LED ambiance strip lighting on both sides of the overhead ceiling panel and electronically dimmable windows. These enhanced features are controlled by a Passenger Comfort Display. Other improvements include the cabin's ergonomically enhanced seats, USB-A and USB-C power plugs, and cupholders and headset hangers for each occupant.
