VIP Completions talks ongoing projects, outlook for 2024

The Falcon 7X pre-refurbishmentVIP Completions, a provider of aircraft completions and refurbishment services, provided an update on current operations and a look at expectations for 2024 on Tuesday. The VIP Completions hangars are full, with numerous major projects ongoing. The major projects include an interior refurbishment of a Boeing Business Jet, a conversion of a Gulfstream G550 from a business jet to a medical evacuation air ambulance, and the full refurbishment of a Dassault Falcon 7X.RELATED STORY:VIP Completions begins BBJ interior refurbishment In September the company shared it was refurbishing a BBJ, offering exceptional comfort, luxury and personalization. Floor plans include three principal cabin areas, a large mid-cabin galley with a bar area and three lavatories. The design upgrades include custom-designed seating throughout the cabin, premium upholstery, a full cabin re-veneer, new stone countertops and luxury wool carpeting. This is among the big projects expected to be completed this year. The Gulfstream G550 pre-refurbishment "These are all big projects," VIP Completions President Ben Shirazi said. "Working on corporate airliners and long-range business jets gives our team the opportunity to transform and revitalize aircraft. Comprehensive refurbishments dramatically improve the in-flight experience while increasing the value of our clients' assets. In the case of our air ambulance project, the contrast is even greater - going forward, that aircraft will be deployed to save lives." This year the industry is expected to see modest growth of around two percent. JETNET predicts there will be approximately 775 business aircraft deliveries in 2024. VIP Completions said the industry is moving back to pre-pandemic numbers and the supply chain is catching up to demand, hinting at stability moving forward. "Looking specifically at pre-owned business aircraft, we anticipate a slight softening in pricing this year," Shirazi said. "However, that can be beneficial for refurbishments and conversions because buyers will take a closer look at value. In turn, owners may decide that upgrading their current aircraft is more attractive than putting it on the market. For these reasons, we believe that refurbishments and conversions will remain quite strong. If the first days of 2024 are any indication, we are feeling optimistic."
