Honda Aircraft Company announced the delivery of the 250th HondaJet on Wednesdays. The company celebrated this milestone achievement with a special event at its global headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina.HondaJet celebration
This delivery marks the 250th since Honda began customer deliveries of the HondaJet in late 2015. To date, the HondaJet holds 14 type certifications around the world. The plane has progressed from the HondaJet to the HondaJet Elite in 2018, to the Elite S in 2021 and the Elite II in 2022. The jet has redefined the very light jet category and its success indicates what to expect with the recently announced HondaJet Echelon.
"The 250th delivery milestone is not just a number, but a narrative of our constant pursuit of excellence and innovation," Honda Aircraft Company President and CEO Hideto Yamasaki said. "We are grateful for the global recognition and trust that customers place in the HondaJet. We remain dedicated to advancing the aviation industry, continuously pushing the boundaries of skyward mobility to enhance joy and freedom for customers."
Along with the celebration, Honda was proud to announce that the HondaJet global fleet has surpassed 210,000 flight hours with a dispatch reliability of 99.7 percent. As the fleet size grows, customers continue to experience convenient access to high-quality support and services. Honda is committed to establishing itself as a leader in its class and to reshaping the future of aviation mobility. This ongoing commitment is exemplified by the development of the Echelon. Honda unveiled the HondaJet 2600 concept at NBAA-BACE and two years later, in October 2023, officially branded the jet the Honda Echelon. Honda refers to the Echelon as the first continental light jet. The aircraft is designed for single-pilot operation and the company is seeking dual certification for pilots on the Garmin G3000 avionics system. The jet will be 20 percent more fuel efficient than its light jet competitors and 40 percent more efficient than current midsize jets.
