Stay the night in a converted Lockheed JetStar at this countryside campsite

Vacation in style in a private jet that has been converted into an Airbnb. An alternative "glamping" site in Tenby, Wales offers guests a unique opportunity to stay in a converted Lockheed Jetstar, complete with Xbox 360 games in the cockpit and an attached double bedroom. Apple Camping, a glam camping site in South Pembrokeshire, offers guests unique lodgings for their stay. The scenic countryside site features other unique experiences including a UFO-styled 1960s pod, a converted Airbus fuselage, an underground sonar submarine and a converted U.K. Pullman train carriage. The converted JetStar has many of the original features, including a functional cockpit with an Xbox 360 offering flight games to play while sitting in the pilot seat. The main fuselage can seat nine people on six leather seats with walnut inlaid dropdown tables and a leather sofa, which would make a nice additional sleep space. There is a bar area with classic 70s style mirrors and padded leather upholstery. The rear of the plane features an operational lavatory and cold-water sink. A double bedroom was attached to the rear of the plane and the aircraft has a single bed behind the cockpit for kids. There is front and rear access to the plane for guests to come and go while enjoying their JetStar stay. The plane is heated and fully electrified with LED lights and numerous sockets. The main fuselage is equipped with a Bluetooth compatible CD and radio. Enjoy a meal as a family with a private adjacent cooking area and outside seating and dining area or communal BBQ and central seating area, along with included cutlery, crockery and utensils. There is a kitchen sink, kettle, toaster, fridge and microwave. Bedding is provided and there are communal hot shower facilities. Prices start from £179 per night for two people and an extra £20 per night per additional person, or about $226.61 USD for two people and about $25.32 per additional person. The JetStar sleeps a maximum of four people and dogs are not allowed on board so the plane stays allergen-free for all guests and the original interior is protected.RELATED STORIES:See the abandoned Boeing 737 transformed into luxury villaYouTuber cuts Elvis Presley's JetStar into pieces to raise funds for charity, RV conversionElvis Presley JetStar new owner dismantles plane to turn it into RV experience If the countryside is not your dream vacation, try a luxury villa in Bali made from a decommissioned Boeing 737. The abandoned 737 was converted into a stunning, modern villa sitting on the edge of a cliff 500 feet above Bali's Nyang Nyang beach. The cockpit was converted into a bathroom and a wing became the deck overlooking the sea. What was once a commercial airliner, is now a villa with walk-in closets, a living room, a bar area and a helipad. Another JetStar is finding a new purpose after being bought at auction by an aviation YouTuber. Elvis Presley's 1962 Lockheed 1319 JetStar was left sitting in a desert for decades until it was put up for auction in January 2023. YouTuber James Webb bought the jet for about $234,000 with the goal of restoring it. After having it inspected, Webb discovered that even if he spent the $5.7 million to repair the plane, it was legally too loud to turn on. He found a new solution to offer fans of aviation and Presley alike a new experience - by turning the JetStar into an RV experience. Webb and his team cut the plane into pieces, creating thousands of JetStar tags to sell to fans and raise money for charity, as well as the RV restoration. The fuselage of the jet will be converted into an RV for guests to stay in, featuring the original bold red velvet interior and gold accents.
