POSITION SUMMARY: 

The position is responsible for performing routine and major repairs on the company’s fleet of MD500 helicopters. Position also requires good troubleshooting skills along with repair, modification, engine removal, operational checks, and scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of MD500/D/E/F models. Successful applicants will also work with our in-house machine shop on parts designs for aerial saws, as applicable, to the MD500 airframe. 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1)       Performs all routine and major maintenance activities and repairs on LaRoche Aviation Services’ fleet of MD 500 helicopters.

2)       Troubleshoot, repair, modify, perform engine removals, operational checks, and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance of MD500 helicopters, Models D, E, and F.

3)       Adhere to company, maintenance, and safety policies and procedures.

4)       Coordinate with regulatory agencies on maintenance topics, as required or needed.

5)       Coordinate with all non-company personnel or Approved Maintenance Organizations (AMOs) performing maintenance on LaRoche Aviation Services aircrafts.

6)       Maintain aircraft maintenance records required by FAA regulations, manufacture recommendations, and company policy.

7)      Ensure compliance with Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins affecting Flight Department aircrafts.

8)       Remove unsafe aircraft from service.

9)       Remove aircraft from service that do not comply with the CFRs.

10)    Ensure calibration of test equipment

11)    Ensure that products, parts, supplies, and consumables meet the specifications and requirements set forth by the manufacturer.

12)    Assume any duties delegated by the Director of Aviation Maintenance.

13)    Participate in training related to the maintenance or preventative maintenance of aircrafts, as needed.

14)    Ensure that the hangar and test areas are maintained in a clean, orderly condition at all times.

15)    Ensure adequate safety precautions are observed at all times.

16)    Ensure that all forms requiring his/her signature, stamp, or initials have been completed prior to submitting the unit for final inspection for return to service.

17)    Maintain detailed records of services performed.

18)    Ensure that inventory is accurately maintained.

19)    Understand and apply guidelines from manuals and blueprints.

20)    Ensure compliance with regional safety regulations.

21)    Represent the Company in an ethical and proper manner.

22)    Perform all duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervision by consistently showing ability to recognize and deal with priorities.

23)    Recognize and perform duties which need to be completed although not directly assigned.

24)    Work well, and maintain cooperative working relationships, with the managers, employees, vendors, suppliers, and customers.

25)    Secure worksite, equipment, & materials at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and safety of equipment and materials.

26)    Monitor, inspect, and maintain equipment to ensure optimal operation. Identify and address problems or defects.

27)    Consistently show ability to recognize and deal with multiple priorities; Demonstrate ability to tactfully handle stressful or difficult situations.

28)    Maintain a professional appearance appropriate for the position and within policy guidelines.

29)    Be dependable, report to work on time, and provide proper notification of whereabouts when absence from work is unavoidable.

30)    Follow all policies and procedures with strict attention to safety, per company standards.
