General Purpose and Scope of Position:

Wilbur-Ellis is seeking an experienced A&P Helicopter Mechanic. A successful candidate will be expected to perform all facets of daily, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on the company fleet. They will be troubleshooting airframe, engine, and electrical systems; replacing engines, transmissions, and other components as necessary. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Some overtime may be required.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

  • Possess current FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate (A&P) with no enforcement action(s) pending
  • Experience with Bell 206 series aircraft (preferred)
  • Three years of experience on Turbine powered helicopters (preferred)
  • Able to understand and properly use aircraft manuals
  • Able to use calibrated, hand, and specialized tools
  • Ability to sign off logbooks and record component entries IAW FAA CFR’s
  • Knowledge and skills in computer-based maintenance software
  • Maintenance planning and scheduling skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot discrepancies and apply corrective actions to maintain the airworthiness of the aircraft
  • It May require some travel
  • Additional training may be required

  • Able to lift and carry 70 pounds repeatedly
  • Able to work in varying conditions, stand for long periods, fit in tight spaces, climb aircraft and support stands, fly on-board company aircraft when necessary
  • Willingness to work weekends, on-call, and overtime during busy periods

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • Remove and install aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls, and associated components
  • Apply technical expertise to solve problems by interpreting technical documentation such as aircraft Technical Manuals, Maintenance Information, and Action Messages
  • Service and lubricate aircraft components and subsystems
  • Perform scheduled inspections and assist in performing special inspections
  • Perform maintenance operation checks and diagnose and troubleshoot aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required
  • Recommends revisions to maintenance procedures to improve efficiency and ensure quality workmanship
