Airbus and Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation to develop CityAirbus NextGen’s future medical missions in Norway

Atlanta, 8 March 2023 – Airbus Helicopters has partnered with the Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation to develop CityAirbus NextGen’s future missions for medical services in Norway. To this end, the parties will jointly measure the added value of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for a selection of medical services use cases across the country to integrate the operational requirements right into the configuration of Airbus’ eVTOL.

Airbus Helicopters is building a test centre for CityAirbus NextGen in Donauwörth

Donauwörth, Airbus Helicopters has started construction of a test centre for CityAirbus NextGen, with Company representatives, politicians, and business leaders attending the ground-breaking ceremony. The building is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2023. Occupying a surface area of 1,000 m2, the new structure will be used for testing systems for electric takeoff and landing vehicles (eVTOLs). The ceremony was attended by Anna Christmann, the Federal Government Coordinator of German Aerospace Policy.

Airbus selects KLK Motorsport and Modell- und Formenbau Blasius Gerg GmbH to develop rear structure of CityAirbus NextGen

Berlin, 22 June 2022 – Airbus is partnering with KLK Motorsport and Modell- und Formenbau Blasius Gerg GmbH to design, develop and manufacture the rear structure of CityAirbus NextGen. The companies will work together to develop an ultra-lightweight rear fuselage, which plays a key role in the airframe’s flight efficiency and which meets the high standards of reliability and performance for Airbus' electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) prototype.
