Enstrom Helicopter Corporation made the trip to Lakeland, Florida for a dynamic appearance at this year’s SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo. The annual aircraft showcase attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors, earning it the designation of “spring break for pilots.” SUN ‘n FUN features more than 500 exhibitors, a series of hands-on workshops, and dozens of educational seminars.
Enstrom is fresh off its appearance at HAI HELI-EXPO in Anaheim, California, where Enstrom representatives unveiled multiple exciting, new features including lithium-ion battery options, Genesys autopilot for the 480B, and air conditioning for Enstrom’s piston model helicopters. SUN ‘n FUN provided a fresh avenue to highlight these features to an audience on America’s eastern and Gulf coasts.
“We had a terrific time interacting with our fellow rotorcraft enthusiasts,” said Martin. “We saw a great deal of interest, from dealers and shop mechanics to fellow pilots in the U.S. and Latin America. We even talked with a couple groups about starting new Enstrom flight schools in the Southeast. There are so many exciting things happening in Menominee, and it’s a thrill to finally share these developments with the world!”
SUN ‘n FUN guests received an up-close look at Enstrom’s latest paint schemes and interior upholstery. Generation Global incorporated top-grain Italian leather with double diamond stitching into the seating. The entire back wall is double quilted, and the floor is equipped with heavy-duty vinyl.
“One visitor compared the interior to a sports car!” Martin said. “We also received many compliments on the 480B’s all-glass instrument panel and color scheme, which shined brightly in the Florida sun. In the hundreds of aircraft on display, there was nothing quite like it!”
Enstrom representatives will continue their cross-country summer tour, with appearances planned at The Great Alaskan Aviation Gathering on May 4 and EAA AirVenture Oshkosh from July 22 to 28.
