ARTESIA GENERAL HOSPITAL SELECTS AIR METHODS ASCEND TO PROVIDE ADVANCED TRAINING FOR THEIR ER NURSES

Air Methods Ascend provides state-of-the-art online education

ARTESIA, NM, July 7, 2023 – Air Methods, the nation’s leading air medical service provider, announced today that Artesia General Hospital has selected the Air Methods Ascend critical care online education program to provide additional training for their ER and PCU nurses and are considering ICU services in the future too.

Located in Artesia, NM, Artesia General Hospital first opened its doors in 1939 and has grown into a 49-bed, non-profit facility serving Southeastern New Mexico. Their mission is to provide high-quality, patient-focused health care that is readily accessible, cost-effective, and meets the needs of the citizens and communities they serve.

“The online courses offered through Air Methods Ascend are a great addition to our training to help our nurses remain updated on the latest medical best practices,” said Lindsay Townsend, Artesia hospital educator. “They provide a comprehensive and convenient framework that benefits our team and helps us provide the best patient care.”

The Ascend in-person and online education programs provide access to world-class educators, state-of-the-art tools, and cutting-edge technologies to help pre-hospital and critical care clinicians build their knowledge, enabling them to operate at the top of their licensure and fulfill continuing education requirements. Education programs include advanced manikin-based simulation and virtual reality training that mirror real-world patient care scenarios, building life-saving skills and confidence. Courses meet certification requirements for the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN), Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE), and International Board of Specialty Certifications (IBSC).

“Air Methods is proud to partner with Artesia General Hospital to provide their team with critical care review courses taught by best-in-class educators,” said Dr. Stephanie Queen, Air Methods’ senior vice president of clinical services. “We are confident that Air Methods Ascend will help the nurses at Artesia General Hospital operate at the top of their licensure while maintaining their required CEs for recertification.”
