NBAA announces latest Sustainable Flight Department Accreditation recipients

The NBAA announced on Tuesday the additional inaugural business aviation entities that have achieved the Sustainable Flight Department Accreditation. The program was launched in 2022 and includes four independent accreditations. The four categories, flight, ground support, operations and infrastructure, are aimed at recognizing the diversity of business aviation entities and the different emissions scopes.RELATED STORY:NBAA announces awardees of Sustainable Flight Department Accreditation The new accreditation program shows a validation of leadership for sustainable flight operations. The goal of the program is to promote sustainability and encourage companies to think and act critically about strategic plans for improving sustainability. Awardees American Express Corporate Aviation: Flight, Operations The Boeing Company, Executive Flight Operations: Flight Coca-Cola Company: Flight Cox Aviation LLC: Flight Dell Technologies Corporate Aviation: Flight Dow Aviation: Flight, Operations, Ground Support, Infrastructure Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation: Flight, Operations, Ground Support, Infrastructure Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company: Operations The NBAA also accredited other entities that have chosen to remain anonymous. "Through programs such as NBAA's Sustainable Flight Department Accreditation Program, business aviation is taking concrete, measurable steps to address climate change," NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. "We commend the companies who have worked hard to achieve this accreditation and strive to create a more sustainable future for business aviation." Gulfstream announced it was the first OEM to earn all four areas of accreditation. "These accreditations encompass our holistic commitment to leading our industry toward its goals for carbon neutrality, and we are proud to be the first original equipment manufacturer to be identified for these efforts across all four categories — flight, ground support, operations and infrastructure." The first round of awardees was accredited in November 2022. When the first round of awardees accredited was announced, the NBAA said these were the inaugural recipients out of many that will be recognized in the future.
