Bombardier announced its first fleet launch customer for the Global 8000 aircraft. NetJets, a long-time customer of Bombardier, will be the first fleet launch customer for the Global 8000, ordering four new jets and converting eight previous orders.
With a top speed of Mach 0.94, the Global 8000 is one of the world's fastest and longest-range purpose-built jets. The jet was announced at EBACE this year and has a range of 8,000 nautical miles. This business aircraft adds to NetJet's large fleet of over 850 aircraft, the recent order for four valued at $312 million. NetJet also converted eight previous orders for Bombardier aircraft to orders for the Global 8000.
NetJet adds these new aircraft to the previous order for the Global 7500, as well as those currently in service. The current fleet of Global 7500 and 8000 aircraft will also be getting an upgrade from Bombardier. NetJets will welcome a large and diverse fleet of aircraft, with a plan to build a fleet of 24 Global 8000 aircraft.RELATED STORIES: Bombardier unveils the executive cabin for the Global 7500 and Global 8000Bombardier Global 8000 unveiled as fastest business jet in the skies
