HondaJet is most delivered aircraft in its class for the fifth year

Honda Aircraft Company announced that its HondaJet was the most delivered aircraft in its class for the fifth consecutive year, according to information released by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA).In 2021, Honda Aircraft Company delivered 37 aircraft to customers globally."I am humbled and honored that the HondaJet continues to be selected by our owner and operators as we expand our global fleet," said Honda Aircraft Company President and CEO Michimasa Fujino.The manufacturer recently celebrated several milestones, including the delivery of the 200th HondaJet in December.The worldwide HondaJet fleet also surpassed 100,000 flight hours in January.Additionally, the FAA recently awarded Honda Aircraft with the "Diamond level AMT employer award," the highest level in the William (Bill) O'Brien Aviation Maintenance Technician Awards program, in recognition of the company's aircraft maintenance technicians' skill and professionalism.The HondaJet was in the headlines this past October when the company unveiled a prototype of its HondaJet 2600 on the first day of the NBAA-BACE annual convention.RELATED: HondaJet 2600 concept debuts at NBAA-BACEThe company says it will be the first light jet of its class that can fly non-stop from New York to Los Angeles, in other words from Teterboro Airport to Van Nuys and, depending on headwinds, potentially even farther. The HondaJet 2600 brings a new challenger to the rapidly-growing small jet market, creating an alternative to compete with the Embraer Phenom 300 and Pilatus PC-24.RELATED: Embraer Phenom 300 celebrates decade as best-selling light jetThe latest aircraft in the Honda Aircraft lineup will be able to seat up to 11 people, but a price tag has yet to be announced.Meanwhile, the global presence of the HondaJet increased further in 2021 when it received Thailand type certification, marking 14 countries with HondaJet certification.
