HondaJet 2600 concept debuts at NBAA-BACE

LAS VEGAS - A tightly held secret became public on the first day of the NBAA-BACE annual convention, as HondaJet rolled out a prototype of its HondaJet 2600.The company says it will be the first light jet of its class that can fly non-stop from New York to Los Angeles, in other words from Teterboro Airport to Van Nuys and, depending on headwinds, potentially even farther. The aircraft is projected to be able to reach a max speed of 450 knots with a maximum ceiling of 47,000 feet, and a range of 2,625 nautical miles.HondaJet's announcement brings a new challenger to the rapidly-growing small jet market, creating an alternative to compete with the Embraer Phenom 300 and Pilatus PC-24.The HondaJet 2600 will be able to sit up to 11 people. A company representative said a projected price tag has yet to be announced.
