Cirrus showcases Vision Jet G2+ at NBAA BACE

LAS VEGAS - The Cirrus Vision Jet is getting an overhaul in its takeoff speed, range and onboard technology. The aircraft manufacturer brought a model of its G2+ Vision Jet to the NBAA-BACE conference at the Las Vegas Convention Center.The G2+ includes a modified Williams International FJ33-5A that Cirrus says will improve takeoff capability in hot and high-altitude locations, such as the Aspen-Pitkin County, Colo., Airport (KASE) in the summer.The revamped Vision Jet will also come equipped with in-flight Wi-Fi and the Perspective Touch flight deck, outfitted by Garmin. The Cirrus Vision Jet G2+ has a maximum operating altitude of 31,000 feet with a max cruise speed of 311 knots and is already FAA and EASA certified. The company pegs its operating cost at $1,432 for a 600 nautical mile flight in 1 hour and 43 minutes with a pilot and four passengers to $2,280 for a three-hour flight covering 1000 nautical miles at $2,280.
