Textron Aviation delivers Cessna 206 trainer aircraft to West Point

Textron Aviation Special Missions has delivered two Cessna 206 Turbo Stationair HD aircraft to the United States Military Academy (USMA), known more widely as West Point. The Cessna 206, following the footsteps of the Cessna T-41 and 182, will be used by West Point for aviation training.The flight training program has operated Cessna fixed-wing aircraft for many decades."The mission of USMA is to educate, train and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of Duty, Honor, Country and prepared for a career of professional excellence and service to the nation as an officer in the United States Army," the manufacturer said on its Facebook page. The Cessna 206 Stationair can seat six passengers and has a maximum range of 703 nautical miles. With a useful load of 1,441 lbs, the aircraft can be utilized for commuting, landing on a short dirt airstrip, splashing in at a remote lake on amphibious floats, or carrying gear.
