First Wing Jet Center, the only fixed-base operator (FBO) at Indianapolis Executive Airport (TYQ), has begun construction on 12 private hangars on the west side of its facility. The hangars are expected to be completed this fall. The executive hangars will be approximately 65' wide and 60' deep with 64' wide Schweiss Bifold electric doors."The growth at Indianapolis Executive Airport is a direct result of being located between the fast-growing Hamilton and Boone Counties just north of Indianapolis," said Sean White, Vice President and General Manager of First Wing Jet Center. "We are the busiest non-commercial airport in the state, and we're running out of space. We've been getting inquiries about hangar space for years, and with the two new hangars, we'll be closer to meeting that demand."First Wing currently stores more than 100 aircraft, including both personal airplanes and corporate jets."The hangars we are building are unique in this part of the state," said White. "The majority of private hangars currently available in the area are smaller, T-hangars, or larger shared hangars. The executive hangars will provide a new option for customers who own large, or multiple airplanes, that previously wasn't available in central Indiana."The hangars will also have the ability to add office space, lofts, and even be customized post-construction.
